About

Accessible.travel is a new webpage that is being established by Craig Grimes a paraplegic and full-time wheelchair user. Grimes first web page was AccessibleBarcelona, a free online guide for people with disabilities to the Catalan capital. That page was written more as a hobby rather than anything else, however, due to public demand he began reserving accessible hotels, adapted transport and arranging mobility aid hire. Now, AccessibleBarcelona is a thriving busisness that has helped hundreds of people with disabilities and mature travellers enjoy the city.

Grimes has also created other web pages such as AccessibleCruiseTours designed to provide accessible shore excursions for cruise clients with disabilities. During the last year Craig has lived and worked in Nicaragua where he is experimenting with responsible communty tourism for people with disabilities in Central America, you can read more about this at AccessibleNicaragua. During his own trips, Grimes also attempts to help other travellers through giving information about destinations, accommodation and other services for people with disabilities. AccessibleEverything has blog posts about Spain, France, UK, USA, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Brazil and India to mention a few.

Grimes new venture Accessible.travel is intended to fill an important gap in information and services for people with disabilities and mature travellers. Accessible.travel will provide online accessible accommodation booking services, adapted airport transfers, mobility equipment hire and suitable guided tours in a variety of European Cities. The idea is to start small with a selection of cities and slowly expand destination choices month by month.
